WHAT WE DO

Our site is new and we are working to building it.

          TRAINING

Running and HIIT training provide a great grounds for tug of war training. Being physically fit is critical for the team of eight men to work together.

           PRACTICE

Gantry work, ladder work, and live pulling promotes teamwork and strength. We work multiple times throughout the week to gain continuity. In Tug of War a team wins as eight. An individual does not win a pull but can certainly lose a pull.

           TOW Equipment

A pullers equipment list consists of their boots, team uniform, and if desired weight belt and or wrap. Possibly most important piece of equipment is the boots. Ice skates, roller blades, and ski boots make up the different styles used. A hard sole with a steel plate at the heal makes up the boot.

           TOW Rules

The rope that is used is 1.5" thick and 110' long or 35 meters. A team successfully wins by pulling a team 13.1' or 4 meters from center, or the starting point. In a Closed class there must be eight pullers that weigh at or under the specified weight of the class.

TWIF descibes winning as: A pull is won when the middle marker on the rope is pulled beyond the side marking on the floor.
